20 years of c/o pop -
celebrate with us!

From April 26 to 30, 2023, we'll be setting all the signs to J for anniversary - WE'LL BE 20!!! Two decades ago, we set out to flood Cologne's cultural landscape with lots of pop-cultural content and wanted to involve as many institutions, labels, clubs and, above all, artists as possible - from Cologne, NRW, Germany and, at best, worldwide. We have come a little closer to this goal with each passing year. In the meantime, the closed Venloer Straße is out of bounds for one weekend in April. And always at our side: You! <3 To celebrate the anniversary in a fitting manner, we are already hard at work on exciting activities for 2023 - we'll be revealing more in the next few weeks.

Next confirmed shows

And bang - we've already got the next acts for the music programme: While various bands are currently having to cancel their tours by the dozen, his shows are being moved up to larger venues without further ado: We are not surprised - after all, Betterov's voice and his storytelling in combination with the post-punk and new wave influences are absolutely unique - and authentic anyway. Ski Aggu's casual underground rap also sounds authentic, as he processes drunken nights in Berlin techno clubs in songs like "Weißwein & Pappbecher" (White Wine & Paper Cups), "Partyticker" (Party Ticker) and "Tour de Berlin" (Tour de Berlin). We also welcome multi-instrumentalist and singer CATT with her clear-as-a-bell voice, delicate piano sounds and universal stories about the here and now, ENNIO, the indie singer from Munich, whose Annenmaykantereitesque voice brings the themes of his generation to the stage, and BECKS aka Rebecca Thomalla, who released her first snippet on TikTok, and with it her coming-out, and went viral straight away - no wonder, with that easygoing voice and cool sound. With melancholic and spherical synth songs somewhere between police and heartbreak, Fuffifufzich in turn has wanted to "unlock your hearts" since 2018. Let's see if she or one of the other acts like Blumengarten, The Haunted Youth, Tropikel Ltd, NASHI44, Leftovers, Sam Quealy, Kids Return, Roland Cristal, Batbait, Anna Erhard, Lyschko, ELOI, Maryam.fyi and pogendroblem succeed. Have a listen!

Readings, Comedy & Co.

As part of our Experience programme, we present events from the non-musical but still pop-cultural field - for example, Ines Anioli reads from her current novel "Motten im Bauch", which is about toxic relationships. We also bring Parshad on stage, who packages current trends, pop-cultural topics and sustainable messages in a comedic way and thus develops her very own form of communication. With "The Trailblazer Ball by Crystal Saint Laurent & Father David Elle", our 2023 festival programme will surely offer you one of the most colourful evenings. Those who experienced last year's "Crystal Ball" know what we are talking about! Crystal Saint Laurent & Father David Elle are now co-hosting the upcoming Major Ball as "The Trailblazer Ball", bringing jury, houses, ballroom beats and performers* together on the festival Saturday, 29.04.2023.

The next programme item also promises to be super colourful: The "Black & Brown Queer Cabaret" was created by Prince Emrah (pronoun she/her) - a professional belly dancer, dance trainer, make-up artist, DJ and occasional drag queen in Berlin. Emrah is the mother of an artist collective called "QueerBerg", which provides a space for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers and refugees from countries such as Syria, Palestine, Malaysia, Libya, Iran, Turkey and others.

Amore on the opening evening

Amore on the opening evening

The three permanent members of the Crucchi Gang all have a great soft spot for Italy. According to legend, Francesco Wilking, Charlotte Goltermann and Patrick Reising came up with the unusual concept while having a beer together after a Bob Dylan concert: they select the favourite songs of artist friends, translate them into Italian and bring them to the stage or to a record - with a lot of amore and in a constantly changing line-up. Besides the Italian-loving trio, the Crucchi Gang consists of various musicians. We will announce who will be there soon.

For the anniversary year, we have secured many strong partnerships and cooperations. Because we want the programme to be even more diverse, so that the pop-cultural wind that prevails during c/o pop becomes a storm that leaves traces of cultural diversity. As part of the first cooperation, we’re putting OG Keemo on stage at Schauspiel Köln - and we’re super excited ourselves to see exactly what happens on stage. Tickets for the 20th c/o pop anniversary show with OG Keemo at Schauspiel Köln are now available.
